The Abarth 695 Biposto has been described by parent company Fiat as “the world’s smallest supercar”. It’s no idle boast, because this diminutive hot hatch offers superb performance levels – and boasts appealing good looks too.
The vehicle has been created to be as light as possible, with carbon fibre used liberally in its construction, inside and out. In fact, the Biposto weighs less than 1,000kg, possesses just two seats (hence the name: ‘Biposto’) and is divested of features that would otherwise compromise its undoubted on-road prowess.
The nimble Biposto is powered by a 1.4-litre 187bhp petrol engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This delivers 0-60mph in a little over six seconds and a top speed of 143mph. Despite its pace and power, the vehicle still returns as much as 45.9mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 145g/km.
