Daisy Brinkhurst joined Snows SEAT Portsmouth in May 2014 and has continued to grow since she started. Originally Daisy started working within the Parts department, where she was trained on all the systems from the ground up. Daisy excelled in this department and made a valuable contribution to it, which fellow staff were very pleased with.
Seeing the potential, in 2015 SEAT Aftersales Manager, Rob Newton, enrolled Daisy onto the SEAT Apprentice Program as a Service Advisor Apprentice. This was a brave but beneficial move, as Daisy felt this was the department she could see herself working in as part of a long term development. The Apprentice Program that Daisy was enrolled on was a very tough one. The course consists of 2 years studying, visiting the VW Training Centre and also attending the Outward Bound activity week where she had to carry out tasks that were outside her comfort zones.
All the hard work has paid off though! To commend her efforts and contribution to SEAT Portsmouth, Daisy was presented her award for Apprentice of the Year on Thursday 24th April. She was both thrilled and shocked by the praise which she truly deserves and what is hopefully the beginning of a very successful career in the future. Rob Newton has said that "Throughout the process, Daisy has been focused and over the 2 year period has developed some great skills. Daisy should be immensely proud of her achievements, the team at Snows SEAT Portsmouth certainly is".
Daisy winning this award has also carried on the accomplishments of Snows SEAT and the progress of their Apprenticeship Program. She is the second SEAT trainee to achieve Apprentice of the Year, following Chelsea George who won the title a few years ago. Chelsea started at Snows SEAT Portsmouth in 2011 and is now a successful Technician on the site. She will soon be attending courses in order for her to obtain a Qualified Technician Status - the 2nd highest in the SEAT Technical training path!
