The new seven-seater Sorento features new advanced technologies to improve the premium experience, including an around-view monitor that gives a bird's-eye view while parking, and a smart power tailgate that opens automatically when the keys are detected very close to the boot. Refinement has also increased, and new soundproofing materials render the updated 2.2-litre CRDi almost inaudible.
As well as these advanced technologies, the Sorento includes advanced safety features, improved handling and advanced fuel-efficiency. Its exterior includes body-coloured mirrors, a gorgeous chrome front grille and tinted glass windows. Available in four different trims, the Sorento can feature up to 17-inch alloy wheels, and includes chrome exterior door handles, projection headlights and LED daytime-running lights as standard. Front and rear fog lights also come as standard, ensuring maximum clarity in any instance. Body-coloured bumpers also come included in each of the different formats.
Inside, the Sorento features an impressive amount of cabin space with sliding and reclining front seats in most models, with adjusting height on the driver's seat. Faux-leather door trim and soft-touch upholstery adds a little bit of luxury, as do the heated front seats available in most formats. A tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjust function is also featured in the all-new Sorento as well as an RDS Radio with CD player and MP3. Six speakers placed throughout the car ensure your favourite songs are always heard and driver-adjusted controls means managing the sound is as easy as can be. With a huge boot capacity, it boasts an astounding 1530 litres luggage room when all the passenger seats are folded, making it ideal for transporting sporting or musical equipment.
As can be expected, the new Kia Sorento incorporates a range of intelligent safety features including Electronic Stability control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) and intelligent all-wheel drive. Twin front and side airbags are included as standard, as are three-point seatbelts with rear ISOFIX fittings. For those with children, rear child-locks should give you further peace of mind.
The six-speed SUV also features impressive handling and power, reaching a top speed of 118mph. Scoring 8.8/10 for performance on the Reevoo feature on Kia's website, the Sorento proves that style, space and safety doesn't compromise the fun of driving the Sorento. Handling as well as any other model in its class, the Sorento is a favourite among reviewers for its practicality, its price and performance.
