The 308 is a desirable five-door family vehicle that has been described by Top Gear as “the best family hatch Peugeot has ever made.” The vehicle features a roomy cabin, spacious boot and cost-effective engines.
An impactful front end features a trapezoidal radiator grille and sleek headlights, including LED daytime running lights. Eye-catching contours can be discerned on the 308’s bonnet and flanks, while the rear fascia sports claw-styled LED tail lights. Active grades feature 16-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlamps, while Allure trims come with 17-inch alloys, full- LED headlights and front fog lamps.
Smartly upholstered in Metax Mistral cloth, the 308’s cabin provides room for five adult passengers. Height-adjustable front seats, electric front windows, air conditioning, remote-controlled central locking and cruise control with speed limiter are among the vehicle’s standard features. With all seats up the boot space is 470 litres; with rear sets folded, the cargo capacity rises to 1,309 litres.
Active trims add adjustable lumbar support for the driver, a leather steering wheel and gear stick, electric rear windows, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and automatic dual-zone climate control. Allure grades feature sports-style seats and an automatic electric parking brake.
A 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel unit are available with entry-level Active trims. Both are paired with five-speed manual transmission. The latter, a 99bhp engine, produces 254Nm of torque and returns as much as 78.5mpg and CO2 ¬emissions as low as 94g/km.
A DAB radio and Bluetooth and USB connectivity are included as standard. Active trims come with a 9.7-inch colour touchscreen and satellite navigation, including five years of mapping updates.
The 308 has a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, and safety features include Electronic Stability Control, seatbelt pre-tensioners and reminders and multiple airbags. Active grades possess rear parking assist, while Allure trims add front-parking assist.
