New BMW M5 in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight

Built for pure driving pleasure, the fifth generation BMW M5 once again combines striking good looks, athletic performance and an impressive level of refinement to produce a luxury saloon that demands attention.

Every detail of the exterior has been designed to fulfil a purpose, from the rear tail-lights which feature the German manufacturer's Thin Blade technology, to the M kidney grille complete with M5 badging and large front vents to boost airflow. The flowing silhouette of the car seamlessly takes in the 20-inch alloys, aerodynamic wing mirrors and prominent side sills. There is further bold styling at the rear with the inclusion of chrome twin tailpipes, a new light cluster and spoiler.

Step inside the BMW M5 and you'll find a spacious and highly-refined interior designed to enhance the driving experience. The ergonomic moulding of the seats with their contoured side supports ensures comfort and stability during dynamic driving, while a high-quality finish is evident throughout the cabin. Staying in complete control is simple, thanks to the redesigned M multifunction leather steering wheel and a well laid-out instrument panel which provides continuous feedback.

The latest technology can be found throughout the new BMW M5 and everything from selecting M Drive cruise control to operating the car's telephone and audio system is intuitive, meaning you never have to break concentration. Air conditioning with four-zone control, digital radio, iDrive Touch Controller and a sat nav system all come fitted as standard.

Passing the M5 off as simply a comfortable saloon car is a mistake as, in line with previous models, its racing car genes have made a serious impact. The eight-cylinder petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology can produce 560bhp and a huge 680Nm of torque, resulting in a 0-60mph time of under 4.3 seconds. An intricate and considerable cooling system is required to handle the power produced by the car, along with various driver aids including Active M differential, Dynamic Damper Control and pre-programmed driving modes capable of altering the car's stability control system.
