The 208 GTi is a stylish and potent performer, one that offers plenty of torque and a quick turn of pace. This well-equipped and practical hot hatch is guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes.
The 208 GTi looks the part with its purposeful stance and subtly creased bonnet and flanks. Eye-catching features include 17-inch technical grey alloy wheels, and a distinctive chequered-flag theme to the black grille, which is trimmed with matt-black chrome and embellished with the GTi emblem. Other elements include chrome door mirrors and colour-keyed door handles and wheel arch extensions.
A five-person cabin features sports seats upholstered in leather and caro cloth, each adorned with the GTi insignia. The driver can get to grips with a leather steering wheel and gear knob. Instrument dials are highlighted with red LED surrounds, while ‘Peugeot’ is picked out in red on the vehicle’s aluminium door sills. Standard features include remote-controlled central locking, cruise control with speed limiter, electric windows and a cooling glovebox. A 285-litre boot when the seats are up can be expanded to 1,152 litres when they are folded.
A 1.6-litre petrol engine is paired with six-speed manual transmission. This produces 205bhp, 300Nm of torque, 0-60mph in less than seven seconds and a top speed of 143mph. Despite its power, the GTi is able to return up to 52.3mpg and emits just 125g/km of CO2.
An FM/AM radio, DAB radio and a CD player provide audio entertainment and can be operated using steering-wheel mounted controls. Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, a colour touchscreen and Mirror Screen compatibility are included.
The vehicle has a five-star rating from Euro NCAP. Safety features include rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Programme, Anti-Lock Braking System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and six airbags.
